Comparing Apples with Apples - and grandson swimming with Dolphins

Magic moment

When my daughter sent this awesome photo of my grandson, while on their Carribean cruise,  I had to blanche at the cost of the photo having mentally converted dollars to our South African currency - say, about the cost of a 3-course meal for two in a reasonable restaurant, with a bottle of wine.  The actual cost of swimming with the dolphin's was - let's say - two week's rent, if you were sharing a small, two-bed apartment. Still, she said the experience was priceless, as was their visit to Lego-world in Dubai on their way home, not to mention their whole, marvelous holiday. As we speak, I think they are in the air somewhere...  Meanwhile, lovely surprise - small son came home two days ago, having "got tired of Thailand"  (read - run out of cash) after two and a half weeks.  He did most of what he had intended though:  hiked around, stayed in hostels, washed baby elephants, met a lot of nice people, and did island-hopping and snorkelling.
Small son, actually looking quite big
He wanted to be home to party with his friends for New Year. So my chickens have come home (almost all) to roost - at least for a while. Small son is coming to us tomorrow and patiently answered all his anxious mother's Whatsapps while he was away.  Time to relax.

  1. Oh I know it costs a lot to swim with the dolphins but what a neat thing to do...It is shocking how much they charge for excursions. So glad you will have all your chickens home lol

    1. THanks for the visit, Kim. I love to get comments - much appreciated.
